Buns in the oven- New Hampshire Malinois du Chocorua

For a couple years I’ve been planning another litter out of my incredible malinois girl, Abby, and today was the start of that journey. Rou Ivarus, a direct import malinois from Serbia was my choice stud. His lines mix beautifully with Abby’s, he has a balanced temperament suitable for work and family, he is social to children, people, and other animals, and he has excellent build and drives. The perfect package, pups will be suitable for work, sport, and as active and working companions.

Rou was “collected” on Monday, in one of the easiest collections his vet had every seen (he was ready to go). The sperm looked healthy and strong, and were packaged up, chilled, and mailed overnight to my reproductive vet. The next morning, Abby and I arrived at the vet at exactly the same time as Rou’s little swimmers were being delivered via UPS. The vet warmed up the sperm, and made sure they were still healthy and swimming strong under a microscope. They looked great. Next step was to put those sperm in Abby via transcervical AI, a procedure that place the sperm near the cervix for best chance at pregnancy. Abby was such a good girl and got compliments all around. All told, she didn’t seem to mind that part at all. She stood on a ramp for a while longer to boost her chances of pregnancy and then her part was done.

In thirty days we will go in for an ultrasound to see if Abby is pregnant and to get an estimate of the number of puppies. If you are interested in finding out more about this very special litter please contact me via the puppy page. Experienced and/or working homes preferred, and all applicants will need to fill out a puppy questionnaire as a first step in the process. Pups will come with AKC registration, and will be registered under the kennel name Malinois du Chocorua. Feel free to contact with questions.
