I am a small hobby breeder, and am very selective in puppy homes. If you are interested in a puppy from an upcoming litter, please include this information in your message: WHY you are interested in a working line Belgian tervuren, and your EXPERIENCE with working dogs.
I require that any prospective owner either have experience working, living, and training this breed or a similar breed, and/or are planning to work with an approved trainer familiar with this breed or breed-type.
Many questions can be answered by reading through my website. These are working bred dogs that need a job- they are bred to have extremely high energy, high intelligence, possession, drive, and dominance- and are not suitable as typical family pets. Pups will require a handler who is firm and fair, and do not do well with harsh training techniques or if their “puppy biting” is handled incorrectly. It is important that prospective homes will give the puppy the time, training, and job they require.
This is a day-in, day-out commitment, and the pretty videos you see of this breed working don’t show the everyday training, exercise, and relationship building that go into creating a dog capable of performing at such high levels in many venues.
Certain females and males will be available as co-owned for use in future breeding. Ask me for details. All other puppies are sold with AKC limited registration.

We maintain a loose waiting list of interested people but puppies are ultimately placed based on “goodness of fit” rather than a numerical order on a list. Accepting one of our puppies means that you understand we will all be in a long-term relationship for the life of the dog.
If you can not keep the dog at any point in his/her life she/he must come back to me- no judgement or questions. See contract for details.
We have the right to refuse the sale of any dog or puppy for any reason. There are very few working tervuren in the United States and we maintain the right for first choice of any puppy from our breeding program.

I am a farmer here in Hawaii looking for a very active farm dog companion. I love the Belgian shepherd line especially the Tervuran because they are a beautiful high drive loyal dog!

Hi there! I wanted to start by saying that your Malinois are absolutely beautiful! I am extremely interested in purchasing a puppy from your litter and was wondering if you had any puppies lrft. I have had quite the experience working with dogs. Over the past few years, I have been a groomer and worked with dogs at a daycare and boarding facility. I have had experience with many German Shepard’s over the years and have always been interested in Malinois because of their uniqueness. I have a big backyard with plenty of room for a dog to run as much as they please. I have also had some experience training dogs and I know this breed is extremely capable as far as trainability. My family is active so I look forward to being able to share that with my dog and have it as a true companion. I would love to talk more with you and would appreciate any further information! I’m interested in future letters. I am a backcountry ski patroller and need a sturdy, healthy dog to work in the snow and be stable around people. I may get her training in avalanche service but not certain. The dog will need endurance and be happy sleeping outside with me in huts or possibly tents. I currently have a traveran and have had a Malinois in the past. My Traveran is a bit more trimmed that the Malinois and this can get in the way of her work. So therefore I’m looking for more of a working traveran.

I am far away from you in Canada. I still like listening to the podcast you did a few years back where you highlighted how versatile the working Belgian Shepherd is. There is no events for working Belgians in my area. I live with an older Border Collie ( landlords dog ). However, there is a rally & obedience event for the CKC Belgian Shepherds locally …..free to attend. People are really nice there. I think you said your dogs are healthier than the show lines.
I feel convinced to stay away from the show lines……..but if I want to see lots of Belgians……..the free show line event is available. I might go still but…….in back of my mind I think for an ” active ” companion, your work line
( or similar ) is the way to go……….not so Collie like. Even though you focus on the working line, have you met some nice show line dogs in your travels ??…….nice temperament. They are a softer dog, but still is a Belgian ….I guess somewhat . Sounds like if you want the original …….almost like getting an original Belgian waffle …..you have to go for work lines.
